1. Educational guidance — not financial advice
Money Mastery Club is an educational guidance website. The lessons, articles, games, forecasting tools and other content on this site are provided for information and education only. They are not personal financial, investment, tax, legal, mortgage, pension or insurance advice, and they do not constitute a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any specific financial product or service.
We do not know your personal circumstances, goals or attitude to risk. Before making any significant financial decision you should obtain regulated, independent advice from a firm authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). You can check whether a firm is authorised on the FCA Financial Services Register or get free guidance from MoneyHelper.
2. Tax, investment and product risk warnings
- Tax rules can change. Tax thresholds, allowances, reliefs and rates referenced on this site (including ISA limits, Personal Allowance, dividend allowance, Capital Gains Tax bands, stamp duty and student loan thresholds) are based on UK rules at the time of publication. They can and do change in every Budget — always check the current figures on gov.uk before you act.
- The value of investments can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you put in. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.
- Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage.
- High-risk products (including spread-betting, crypto-assets, leveraged products and unregulated investments) are not suitable for most retail investors. You can lose more than you deposit. The site references these products for educational awareness only.
- Eligibility for tax-advantaged accounts (such as ISAs, LISAs and SIPPs) and government schemes depends on your personal circumstances and the rules in force at the time.
3. Using the site
- You must be 11 or over to register an account, or have a parent/guardian set one up for you (Under-11s area).
- You agree not to copy, redistribute, resell or use our content commercially without our written permission.
- We may update lessons, games, prices and features at any time. We’ll give reasonable notice of any change that materially affects paying subscribers.
- Your subscription is managed via Dojo. You can cancel at any time from your account dashboard. Refunds are at our discretion in line with consumer law (see Complaints below).
5. Data protection & UK GDPR
We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are the data controller of the personal data you give us when you register, subscribe or contact us.
What we collect: name, email, age group, billing details (handled by Dojo), progress data (lessons completed, quiz scores, FunLand tokens, character choices), and any messages you send us.
Lawful bases we rely on:
- Contract — to provide the subscription service you’ve signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure, prevent fraud, and improve our content.
- Consent — for marketing emails or any optional analytics cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — for accounting and tax records.
Your rights — under UK GDPR you can:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your data (right to be forgotten), where we have no overriding lawful reason to keep it
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Have your data ported to another service
- Withdraw any consent you previously gave
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the “Get in touch” form on the home page. We’ll respond within one calendar month. If you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
How long we keep data: we retain your account while it’s active and for up to 24 months after closure for support and security reasons. Billing records are kept for 7 years to meet HMRC requirements.
Children’s data: we apply the ICO’s Children’s Code (Age-Appropriate Design Code). Under-11 accounts must be created by a parent or guardian and we minimise data collection accordingly.
6. Electronic marketing (PECR)
We comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). We will only send you marketing emails or push notifications if you have opted in — for example by ticking a clearly-marked box at sign-up or in your account settings.
Every marketing email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. We don’t use cookies that aren’t strictly necessary without your consent. We never sell your contact details to third parties.
7. Complaints procedure
If something has gone wrong, we want to put it right. Our complaints procedure has three steps:
- Tell us. Contact us via the “Get in touch” form on the home page or email us at the address shown there. Please include your name, the email on your account, what happened, when, and what outcome you’d like.
- Acknowledgement within 5 working days. We’ll let you know we’ve received your complaint and who is dealing with it.
- Substantive response within 20 working days. If a fuller investigation is needed (for example a refund query that requires Dojo records) we’ll keep you updated and aim to fully resolve within 8 weeks.
If you’re not satisfied:
- For a data-protection issue, you can escalate to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
- For a consumer/billing dispute, you can contact Citizens Advice or, if you paid by card, raise a chargeback with your bank.
- Money Mastery Club is an educational service and is not authorised by the FCA, so disputes about regulated financial advice are out of scope — in that case the firm that gave the advice is who you’d complain to, with onward escalation to the Financial Ombudsman Service if needed.
8. Liability
We do our best to keep the site accurate and up to date, but we don’t guarantee that every figure is current at the moment you read it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for any loss arising from decisions you make in reliance on this educational content. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The English courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from your use of the site, except that consumers may bring proceedings in their country of residence.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when. Material changes will be flagged in your account dashboard. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Educational guidance — not financial advice
Everything on Money Mastery Club is information and education. It is not personal financial advice. Always check current UK tax rules and consider regulated, independent advice before any major decision.
